Electing to bat first, Sussex rode on Luke Wright's impressive innings of 105, followed by Michael Burgess and David Wiese's respectful contributions of 56 and 58 each, to post a challenging total of 341 for the loss of seven wickets, while Somerset's Tim Groenewald and Max Waller claimed three wickets each.
Hildreth resistance
In reply, Somerset managed to provide some resistance, with James Hildreth playing healthy innings of 87. Steven Davies and Matt Renshaw managed to score half-centuries, too. However, scoreboard pressure and Ishant's spell got the better of the host as the side was bundled out for 266.
With this win, Sussex rises to the second spot in the South Group table, while Somerset retains the top spot, for now. Meanwhile, Sussex hosts Middlesex on Friday, while Somerset travels to Chelmsford to play Essex on the same day.
